Creator Invoicing Guide
A clear, professional invoice makes it easier for clients to understand what they owe and how to pay you. Include the agreed deliverables, amount, payment terms, and payment details.
What Every Invoice Needs
Your invoice should clearly display the following information:
- Your Business Info: Name, address, and contact email.
- Client Info: The brand or agency's name and address.
- Invoice Number: A unique identifier (e.g., INV-001) for tracking.
- Line Items: Clear descriptions of the deliverables (e.g., "1x 60-second YouTube Integration").
- Payment Terms: When the payment is due (e.g., Net 30).
- Payment Details: Your bank account routing numbers, PayPal address, or a link to pay via Stripe.
Understanding Payment Terms (Net 30)
Most large brands operate on "Net 30" or "Net 60" terms, meaning they have 30 or 60 days to pay you after the invoice is received. While frustrating, this is standard corporate procedure. Always clarify payment terms in your contract before publishing the video.
Quote vs Invoice
A quote is a proposed price shared before work or payment is agreed. An invoice requests payment for completed or agreed work. The Creator Quote Builder helps prepare a project quote; it is not a full invoice system.
